5th IEEE International Symposium on

QUALITY ELECTRONIC DESIGN

March 22-24, 2004
DoubleTree Hotel, San Jose, CA, USA

http://www.isqed.org

You are cordially invited to register in ISQED04, the leading
international
conference dealing with the design for manufacturability and quality
issues
front-to-back. The conference spans three days, Monday through Wednesday,
in three parallel tracks, hosting near 100 technical presentations, six
keynote speakers, two panel discussions, workshops /tutorials and other
informal meetings. We encourage you to register in advance to take
advantage of the discounted registration fee.

REGISTRATION
------------
Please refer to ISQED web site at www.isqed.org for information regarding
the tutorials, conference, tutorials, and hotel registration. Direct all
conference inquiries to isqed@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 Early registration is recommended
to take advantage of the discounted registration fee.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
=====================

TUTORIALS/WORKSHOPS
-------------------
ISQED 2004 offers a single full-day tutorial track focusing on a range of
critical issues in circuit design at sub-100nm CMOS. We are pleased to
have
five noted experts in their respective fields (Manufacturability,
Variability/Uncertainty, Advanced Devices, Low-Power Design, and
Interconnect Modeling/Analysis) to present the latest research in these
compelling areas as follows:

Nanometer-Scale CMOS Devices
Kerry Bernstein, IBM T.J. Watson Research Center
Interconnect Modeling
Professor Jeff Davis, Georgia Tech
Manufacturability
Professor Andrew B. Kahng, University of California, San Diego
Low-Power Design
Professor Kau****k Roy, Purdue University
Coping with Uncertainty
Nagib Hakim, Intel Cor****ation

PLENARY SESSIONS
----------------
Two plenary sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Six
industry & academia leaders will discuss the issues surrounding
manufacturability and electronic design from various points of view.
Plenary
keynote speakers are:

John Chilton, Sr. VP and General Manager, Synopsys, Inc.
Marc Levitt, VP and General Manager, Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
Larry Bock, CEO, Nanosys Inc.
Hiroto Yasuura , System Research Center, Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan
Pierre G. Paulin, Director, SoC Platform Automation, STMicroelectronics,
Canada
Krishna Saraswat, Rickey/Nielsen Professor of Engineering, Stanford
University

PANEL DISCUSSIONS
-----------------
ISQED is pleased to offer two high-power evening panel discussion
sessions,
where many leading experts, address the im****tant issue of quality design.
These panels would focus on the following topics:

1 DFM PDK's: Where do they belong to?
Are Process Design Kit (PDKs) the answer for modern Design For
Manufacturing
(DFM)?

2 IP Industry: Nordstrom or K-Mart?
The Trend Toward Tighter Relation****ps Between Suppliers and Users

LUNCHEON SPEECH
---------------
The IP Quality Revolution
Michael Keating, Synopsys

TECHNICAL SESSIONS
------------------
ISQED Technical sessions start on Tuesday March 23, and continue until the
afternoon of Wednesday, March 24. Besides the above plenary sessions,
panel
discussions, and workshops, the program consists of seventeen technical
sessions, featuring up to 80 papers on various challenging topics
related
to design for manufacturability and quality. A list of topics includes:

v EDA Tools & IP Blocks; Interoperability and Implications (EDA)
v Design for Manufacturability & Quality (DFMQ)
v Design Verification and Design for Testability (DVFT)
v Package - IC Design Interactions & Co-Design (PDI)
v Robust Device, Interconnect, and Circuits (RDIC)
v Physical Design, Methodologies & Tools (PDM)
v Effects of Technology on IC Design, Performance, Reliability,
and
Yield (TRD)

About ISQED
-----------
The International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED), is a
premier Design & Design Automation conference, aimed at bridging the gap
between and integration of, electronic design tools and processes,
integrated circuit technologies, processes & manufacturing, to achieve
design quality. ISQED is the pioneer and leading conference dealing with
design for manufacturability and quality issues front-to-back. The
conference provides a forum to present and exchange ideas and to promote
the
research, development, and application of design techniques & methods,
design processes, and EDA design methodologies and tools that address
issues
which impact the quality of the realization of designs into physical
integrated circuits. The conference attendees are primarily designers of
the
VLSI circuits & systems (IP & SoC), those involved in the research,
development, and application of EDA/CAD Tools & design flows,
process/device
technologists, and semiconductor manufacturing specialists including
equipment vendors. ISQED emphasizes a holistic approach toward design
quality and intends to highlight and accelerate cooperation among the IC
Design, EDA, Semiconductor Process Technology and Manufacturing
communities.
