How am I being dishonest? I just don't find Solidworks "taking control"
over relations to be factor in my work. I am not pretending anything.
I guess maybe SW just takes over and I'm along for the ride. If this is
the case, the ride is pleasant (mostly). BTW, I don't find ProE to be
any better or worse in this respect - just different.
If I have to "heavily parametrically modify" models and assemblies done
by someone else I will either do so or remodel - whichever makes the
most sense time-wise. Someone elses SW models make take some effort to
figure out the construction but it certainly isn't what I would classify
as difficult (remember, rollback is your friend).
Bottom line, I don't claim to be a SW "expert" but I certainly don't
have any trouble getting my work done. YMMV
