The way I would do this is with Construct Pt @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
 Along Element,
which is the last tool in the Points Tool Box. Just type in the
distance you want (i.e., 14.87 in the example you gave) and then snap
to the beginning point of your curve, and voila!
Hope that's what you need!
