MicroStation Visual Edges CPU performance

by "mike" <mlawrenc@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 14, 2007 at 07:55 AM

I am looking for ideas on how to tweak a Windows XP pro 32bit PC to
use more then +/- 50% CPU usage when running ex****t to visual edges.

I have a number of users running visual edges on some large models,
and have seen this process take well over an hour on some drawings.
What I have noticed, is that the overall CPU usage is about 50%. The
PC is not running out of RAM, and the hard drive usage is very
minimal, so the PC is not waiting on the hard drive.

Is there anyway to force the PC to use more then the 50% average?

PC specs;
HP xw4300
WinXP pro 32bit
3.4GHZ P4 HT
4GB RAM
3GB - 8GB swap
75GB HDD (65.5GB free)

I have killed every running service I can, and am running ustation.exe
in command mode (through BAT file).

Any ideas?
