Fa****on Design Software

by John Saint <jjsantos.pt@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 7, 2008 at 07:40 AM

Hello!

I tried posting to alt.fa****on, but nobody seemed to be able to help
me there. I hope someone knows something about this, as it's related
to CAD, really.

I am having a really difficult time trying to find this information.

Well, the problem is this: I am trying to know what are the standard
software tools in fa****on design. Is there such a thing as a CAD tool
for fa****on? Some standards people use to exchange clothes designs?

I have found a few articles on ModaCAD (later turned Styleclick), but
they never seem to have released a product. And for what I have
searched in many places, including this group, fa****on designers tend
to use Photoshop and Premiere, but more as visual help and not really
with a standard behind.

Is there some kind of tool or standard, like AutoCad or 3D Studio Max,
where people can just send their files and have them turned into real
pieces of clothing in some factory, all the specifications being in
the file?

Thanks to anyone who can contribute or at least give me a pointer or
two where to direct my search.

Thank you,

JS
