Design Options are intended to handle the subtract/demo/change case. Create
an Option Set with two or more Options. Select the existing elements that
you want to change. Add to Option Set. Specify the Option Set. Indicate
all
of the Options in the Option Set. This creates a copy of these elements in
each of the Options. Now, while editing any of the Options, you can change
or delete these elements, including demoli****ng them. (If your intention
is
to delete all of the elements in an Option you can just uncheck that
Option
when adding to Option Set, rather than adding them and deleting them
later.)
Note that you must add to the Option Set _all_ of the elements that will
be
different in the different Options. For example, if you are going to have
two different versions of the roof then you must add the roof to the
Option
Set and also add any walls that are attached to the roof that would have
different height with the different versions of the roof.

design options [if I understand] lets one add options from a certain
point onward. But doesn't allow modifications to ****tions of the design
previously created?
What if a design option is to subtract/demo/change part of the existing
design, not just what is added from this point forward? I see that if
you
copy a view you can set view properties > visible in option. Does this
help somehow?
