Do you remember which version of VCadd you were using?  Sounds like it 
was possibly Version 1.2 or so.

Version 5 is due out any day now and it has been pretty thoroughly beta 
tested. 

If all a person needs is 2D then I highly recommend VCadd.  Price is 
right (list = $395).  It is much easier to learn than ACad or even LT.

I could teach you enough in one day to start producing usable drawings 
using VCadd.  I don't think you can do that with any of the Autodesk 
products.
