Closing an open profile in AutoCAD

by GlynDeCoach@[EMAIL PROTECTED] May 9, 2008 at 06:36 AM

This is probably AutoCAD 101 stuff, but I am not trained in this
application and I need a quick solution to what is probably an easy
issue.

I am opening AutoCAD 2007 .dwg and .dxf files in a third party
application for nesting pieces of steel so as they can be cut on a
plasma table. I have had the .dxf and .dwg files emailed to me from
the contract drafter who is on the job for us and most of them are
OK.

Buuuuuut, of course I have a few that are giving me the error message
"Warning:two open profiles detected". I have contacted the software
supplier for the burning software and they told me that the AutoCAD
file was sent to me with profiles still open.

Now, rather than email the drafter every single time I get this
message, is there an easy way to open the file in AutoCAD and simply
close the profiles?

We have AutoCAD for viewing and printing these files, but nobody here
can actually use it. I have tried checking the web, but my search
criteria must be too vague to produce a useful, step by step answer.

Help...please.
