Attaching database items proportional with 'custom'

by Nathan <nathan.drew@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 10, 2007 at 05:53 AM

I am trying to attach database items to the 'wall surface area' of a
3d zone. By this I mean the area of wall minus the area of doors and
windows. I am aware that i can get this figure from my element
listings but when attaching database items i am only given the option
of attaching proportional with length, surface A,B,C, volume and
'custom'.
When attaching proportional to 'custom', a box appears above the item
and; from reading the Archicad manual i am to type in some GDL code.
Not being familiar with GDL coding myself, could anybody shed some
light as to the specific GDL code to type in to solve my immediate
problem or even better give me a breif overview of how/where i might
find GDL coding relating to items appearing in the listings.
