There are a few ways.
You can extrude the form.
You can use a Object warp, (not a space warp, there's a a big
difference.) to do it too.
In Max,
Create a poly line shape of a rectangle from the 2d shape tab. This will
be the form's profile. Next, Create a poly line in the shape of the bend
you would like.
Next, go to the the 3d tab and select "compound objects" or is it
"shape"? and hit "extrude" object. The roll out will ask you in BUTTON
form to pick a line and a shape, the ones you just created. LOOK Closely
at the multi-sub object listing in the stack at your right-top: You can
adjust things and tweak them to your liking. Next, after the adjustment
is made, convert it to a multi-poly or polygon object to tweak it further.
I may have some of the tab names slightly off. I'm on my Mac right now
and do not have access to Max at this time.
I hope it helps. KEEP WORKING WITH IT! ...and don't get discouraged.
Peace.
